Vegan Richa’s recipe for mango lassi and her great blog filled with vegan Indian recipes
In today's quick Q and A episode, I tackle two of our listener questions, both cooking related. I give you tips for getting motivated to cook fun and delicious meals even when you're only cooking for yourself, and I give some guidance to a listener who wanted to learn how to make two old time Indian favorites into delicious vegan versions she could make at home.
I’ve talked about helpful tools to get inspired to cook more at home and some things you can do to ease your meal prep time throughout the week many times in our podcast, but today I kick this up a notch, and I give you some ideas and perspectives that might help. We talk about swapping your regular batch cooking session for a “fun highlights” cooking session, how you can make time in the kitchen fun through the power of association, the importance of putting yourself in the number one spot again, as well as a key component in improving your relationship with food and letting go of control: developing deep trust within yourself. Surprisingly, this has a lot to do with cooking for one and making your self care a priority.
In our second question I help a listener veganize two old time favorite recipes she’s dying to make at home: mulligatawny soup and mango lassi.
